Ouachita Art & Design hosts exhibit by Margo Duvall

- James TaylorThe Rosemary Gossett Adams Department of Art & Design at Ouachita Baptist University is hosting an exhibit titled “Stitch Along Broken Line” by Margo Duvall through Friday, Sept. 25, in Moses-Provine Hall’s Adams Galleries. A reception and artist presentation will take place at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Admission is free.
“Stitch Along Broken Line” centers on themes of memory and identity, which Duvall expresses through photography and collage.
Carey Roberson, professor of art & design at Ouachita, noted how Duvall brings together cyanotype, found photographs and vintage fabric patterns to create a visual language rooted in personal history.
“Duvall’s work transforms familiar materials into evocative meditations on memory, family and the women who shape our lives,” Roberson said. “She allows viewers to recognize their own histories and connections within her imagery.”
Duvall is an artist and educator from Little Rock who teaches at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas.
The exhibit is available to Ouachita students for Arts Engagement credit. The Adams Galleries are open Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, contact Donnie Copeland at [email protected] or 870-245-5559.
