Knoernschild places first in Juried Student Art Show
May 06, 2025Ouachita Baptist University’s Cade Knoernschild, a junior art and education double major from Little Rock, Ark., earned first place in the university’s 2025 Student Juried Art Show with his piece titled “A Great Divide.” Winners were announced during an opening reception held on April 23 in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s Hammons Art Gallery.
Ouachita's Department of Theatre Arts presents "Hello, Dolly!" April 10-13
March 31, 2025The Department of Theatre Arts in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Performing Arts will present its spring musical, “Hello, Dolly!,” from Thursday-Sunday, April 10-13 in Jones Performing Arts Center. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
Hamilton named president of Arkansas Academy of Science
February 24, 2025The J.D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University has a long track record of quality professors, students and accolades. Dr. Sharon Hamilton, associate chemistry professor and holder of the E.A. Provine Chair of Chemistry, is no exception. Adding to her many accomplishments, Hamilton has been named president of the Arkansas Academy of Science, which serves as a way for scientists across the state to communicate with one another, share the work they are doing and promote science statewide.
Ouachita seniors Hardin and Ricks to perform recital November 15
November 13, 2024The Division of Music in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will present Amaya Hardin and Mac Ricks in their senior musical theatre recital, entitled “Curtain Call,” at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in McBeth Recital Hall.
Abby Moseley crowned 2024 Homecoming Queen at Ouachita
October 28, 2024Abby Moseley, a senior secondary education and mathematics double major from Centerton, Ark., was crowned Ouachita Baptist University’s 2024 Homecoming Queen during a pregame ceremony at Cliff Harris Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 12. Moseley represented the Tri Chi women’s social club, where she has served as president. A member of Kappa Delta Pi honor society for education, she has been named to the President’s List at Ouachita and served as a tutor in the Academic Success Center. Moseley is also a Campus Ministries ministry leader and has been a manager for the Tiger Women’s Basketball team.
