Ouachita junior Chelsy Lewis crowned Miss Arkansas Collegiate

Chelsy Lewis, a junior at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, was crowned Miss Arkansas Collegiate Oct. 16. She will represent Arkansas at the Miss Collegiate America Pageant January 6-8, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas.

Ouachita Singers to present fall concert Oct. 28

Ouachita Baptist University will host the Ouachita Singers in concert on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall. The concert is open to the public and admission is free.

Ouachita Baptist University will host Rick Poynor Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the university’s endowed Birkett Williams lecture series. Poynor’s lecture, “All Art Aspires to the Condition of Music (or vice versa),” will be held in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on Ouachita’s campus and is open to the public and free of charge.
