Knoernschild places first in Juried Student Art Show

Ouachita Baptist University’s Cade Knoernschild, a junior art and education double major from Little Rock, Ark., earned first place in the university’s 2025 Student Juried Art Show with his piece titled “A Great Divide.” Winners were announced during an opening reception held on April 23 in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s Hammons Art Gallery.

Ouachita to hold record-breaking Spring Commencement May 10

Ouachita Baptist University will hold its 138th spring commencement on Saturday, May 10, at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of historic Cone-Bottoms Hall. The ceremony will honor 442 graduates – the largest graduating class in the university’s history.

American Chemical Society wins $10,000 Kluck Service Enrichment Grant

Ouachita Baptist University’s chapter of the American Chemical Society was awarded a $10,000 service grant by the Elrod Center for Family & Community as they celebrated 25 years of Kluck Service Enrichment Grants this past fall. ACS will use the grant this spring to invest in local schools by upgrading chemistry lab kits.

Ouachita names Rachel Martinez 2025 Support Staff Member of the Year

Rachel Martinez, office manager for Riley-Hickingbotham Library at Ouachita Baptist University, was honored as the university's 2025 Support Staff Member of the Year. Martinez received the award from Ouachita President Dr. Ben Sells during the annual Support Staff Outing held on April 16.

Ouachita's Department of Theatre Arts presents "Hello, Dolly!" April 10-13

The Department of Theatre Arts in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Performing Arts will present its spring musical, “Hello, Dolly!,” from Thursday-Sunday, April 10-13 in Jones Performing Arts Center. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
