Collins, Dodge, Goss and Williams named Stepping Up for Ouachita honorees

Ouachita Baptist University will host its 16th annual Stepping Up for Ouachita luncheon, presented by Citizens Bank, on Friday, Nov. 6, at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock. The event will raise money for scholarships and honor four women: Julie (Hendrix) Dodge of Conway, Arkansas; Susan (Shambarger) Goss of Bentonville, Arkansas; Cheryl (Bass) Williams of Geyer Springs, Arkansas; and Dr. Kathy (Chapman) Collins of Arkadelphia, Arkansas (posthumous).

Ouachita Department of Theatre Arts presents "Into the Woods"

The Department of Theatre Arts in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Performing Arts will present “Into the Woods” from Thursday-Sunday, April 16-19, in Jones Performing Arts Center. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Eight Ouachita students participated in the 66th Midwest Model United Nations in St. Louis, Missouri, from Feb. 18 to Feb. 21. Under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Brennan, the university’s student representatives received multiple awards for the ninth year in a row.

Palm Sunday is a significant part of the Holy week leading up to Easter Sunday. Many of us also connect Palm Sunday with the Triumphal Entry, when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem riding on a donkey with crowds of people waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna!” But when one steps back to recognize the symbols and history apparent in this event, I think Jesus’ entry takes on a greater meaning.

Three Ouachita nursing faculty named to 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40

Three faculty members from Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Nursing have been named among Arkansas’ 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40 for 2026, an honor presented by the Arkansas Center for Nursing. Ashley Knight, Kayla Harrington and Leah Cruthis were named as part of the 11th class of honorees announced in February.
