Ouachita's Fall 2024 enrollment highest in 58 years

Pool named dean of Ouachita's School of Education
August 20, 2024Dr. Rachel Pool, associate professor of education at Ouachita Baptist University, has been named dean of the Huckabee School of Education after 13 years on the Ouachita faculty. Pool began providing leadership June 1 for the school’s departments of Education and Kinesiology, which offer six undergraduate degrees between them as well as graduate programs in curriculum & instruction and exercise science.
This past June Barbara Pemberton had the opportunity to travel with four other members of the Ouachita faculty and staff to Manaus, Brazil, to participate in the 15th Annual Faith in Truth pastor’s conference (Fé Na Verdade).

Ouachita to host Called to Teach Conference on July 19
June 12, 2024Ouachita Baptist University’s Huckabee School of Education will host its annual Called to Teach Conference on Friday, July 19, in Walker Conference Center, 485 Campus Drive. The 2024 conference theme is “Keeping the Joy.” Registration costs $50 and includes lunch and a conference T-shirt and bag.

What created the first Watch Night Service was the same event that declared all African Americans free from bondage. That service was held on Dec. 31, 1862, just a few hours before midnight.
