Ouachita students earn four of seven top awards in 2019 ACMA competition

Ouachita Baptist University students earned 38 awards at the recent Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA) conference, including four of the seven top awards for student leaders and Yearbook of the Year.

Ouachita Baptist University’s yearbook, the Ouachitonian, was one of five universities in the nation to receive a Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Gold or Silver Crown Award for its 2017-2018 edition yearbook, “Timeless,” at the 2019 Crown Awards held in New York City on Friday, March 8.

From culture to culture: Study abroad has taught me what we have in common

Ouachita, which many of us affectionately call “the bubble,” is its own world and culture, of sorts. Many of us come from different backgrounds, states and even countries, but we can relate because we are studying for the same CORE classes, practicing for Tiger Tunes and standing out in the cold to cheer for the tigers during Battle of the Ravine.

"The Signal" earns Gold Medalist rating from Columbia Scholastic Press Association

The Signal, Ouachita Baptist University’s student newspaper, and its accompanying website was awarded a Gold Medalist rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in the category of College Hybrid News.

Students were recently honored for having their essays chosen for publication in Assayers 27 (from left): Mattie Dodson, Lindsey Johnson Edwards, Emily Koonce, Aaron East, Sykes Martin, Laura Ward and Melissa Lee. Eight Ouachita students honored and published in essay journal

Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Language and Literature honored eight students last month for having their essays chosen for publication in the department’s annual Assayers journal.
