February 11, 2021Ouachita Baptist University announced a 97% career outcomes rate for its 2020 graduating class, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. The percentage exceeds this year’s national average of 86% reported by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
Ouachita reports highest total spring enrollment in 25 years
February 09, 2021Ouachita Baptist University has reported a total spring 2021 enrollment of 1,619, a 3% increase since spring 2020 and the highest spring headcount for the university in 25 years. The increase reflects strong retention of traditional undergraduate students and new programs for non-traditional students.
Ouachita announces students named to Fall 2020 President's List
January 29, 2021Ouachita Baptist University has named 343 students to its Fall 2020 President’s List. To be named to the President’s List, a student must compile a 4.0 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours and have no incomplete or failing grade for the semester.

Ouachita enters partnership with Leeds United College
December 17, 2020Ouachita has begun a working partnership with Leeds United College and Longford International College to explore collaborative educational opportunities ranging from guest speakers to internships to full degree programs. LUC and LIC are included in the educational division of Leeds United Football Club, which is based in Leeds, England.
Ouachita surprises students by canceling classes Oct. 16, declaring Student Catch-Up Day
October 16, 2020Ouachita Baptist University surprised its students today, Oct. 16, by declaring it Student Catch-up Day and canceling classes in an effort to encourage self-care. The unplanned break was largely in response to a survey of students conducted last weekend to check in on their academic and personal well-being in the midst of an unprecedented semester.
Ouachita awarded $37,000 NetVUE development grant to encourage discovery through reflective writing
October 01, 2020Earlier this year, Ouachita Baptist University was awarded a $37,000 program development grant from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) for its proposal “Discerning Vocation Through Writing.” The two-year grant is intended to equip faculty to better assist students in discerning their vocation through reflective writing exercises.
Ouachita Baptist University’s Riley-Hickingbotham Library is among five Arkansas universities, as well as only one of two private libraries, chosen to receive a copy of the Porter Fund Collection, a curation of works by award-winning Arkansas writers. The collection will be available for Ouachita students, faculty and staff to read virtually, and an exhibition is to be held in the spring of 2021.
