Ouachita Baptist University will hold its second annual Spring Career Fair on Thursday,
Feb. 26, in Walker Conference Center on OBU’s campus.
The career fair, sponsored by OBU’s Career and Corporate Development office, is an
effort to provide students the opportunity to visit with a variety of companies while
preparing them for how to interact with future employers.
“It helps students with skills of networking and honing elevator speech,” said Barbara
Harvel, director of career and corporate development.
The career fair aims to help companies, as well.
“It brings companies to campus that would otherwise consider us off the radar,” said
Harvel. “It allows them to have a mental picture of OBU; they get an image of a quality
of student and whether they want to come back here to recruit.”
Several businesses planning to attend the career fair include Acxiom, Cranford Johnson
Robinson and Woods, Edward Jones, Tyson and Wal-Mart, as well as several other schools,
banks and corporations.
