Ouachita welcomes prospective students to campus for Tiger Friday Dec. 4
November 24, 2009 - OBU News Bureau
Ouachita Baptist University will welcome prospective students and their families to
campus for Tiger Friday Dec. 4. To register, visit www.obu.edu/tigerfridays.
Tiger Fridays offer prospective students and their parents an opportunity to experience
the feel of Ouachita through campus tours, visiting a class, panel discussions and
eating in the Ouachita Commons. Visitors will also enjoy personal interaction with
OBU’s admissions staff, faculty and administration.
“There’s no better way to experience Ouachita than to set foot on campus,” said Brad
Evans, OBU admissions counselor. “Seeing the grounds, meeting with professors and
connecting with other potential students provides the perfect opportunity to fall
in love with Ouachita.”
The day begins with an opening program in Young Auditorium at 9 a.m., followed by
an opportunity at 9:30 a.m. for students and parents to learn more about Ouachita’s
academic programs in a meeting with an admissions counselor and the dean of the school
that they are interested in entering. An admissions counselor will then lead visitors
on a tour of campus.
At 10 and 11 a.m., students have the opportunity attend one or two classes of their
choice. While students are in class at 11 a.m., parents are invited to visit with
administrators for a question and answer panel in Berry Chapel.
At 12 noon, guests are invited to eat in the Alumni Room of the Ouachita Commons,
where they can visit with other parents, students and members of the Ouachita community.
The next Tiger Friday will be held Jan. 15, 2010.
