Ouachita Baptist University’s Ouachita Sounds will perform on Friday, March 5, at
7:30 p.m. in the Jones Performing Arts Center on Ouachita’s campus.
Ouachita Sounds will perform a high-energy concert featuring a tribute to Michael
Jackson. The concert will include a variety of solo and ensemble pieces as well as
dance performances.
“This year we have made it more of a variety show,” said Mary Worthen, director of
Ouachita Sounds and OBU assistant professor of music. “Our main focus is to entertain
and keep everything upbeat throughout the performance.”
“We’ve been working a lot this semester on numerous projects, and now we are focusing
on the concert,” said Bethany Whitfield, a new member of Sounds. “It will be great
because our group recognizes the importance of keeping Sounds at the level it has
always been…This concert will be our best face forward.”
