Ouachita hosts United Blood Systems blood drive April 6-7

March 30, 2010 - Tara Davidson

Ouachita Baptist University will host United Blood Systems in its annual campus blood drive April 6 and 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. This event allows Ouachita students, faculty and staff to give back to their community and help save lives.

“Even one blood donation can help save up to three lives,” said Tammy Barnes in Ouachita’s campus activities office.

Ouachita and United Blood Systems have partnered for more than five years to host this event.

“Last year, the students gave a total of 85 units of blood,” said Debbie Anderson, a representative from United Blood Systems. “This year we challenge the students to help by donating 100 units.”

The blood drive will be held in the Evans Student Center banquet rooms. Participants will receive a free T-shirt and snack after their donation. For more information, contact OBU’s campus activities office at (870) 245-5539.
