November 01, 2010 - Megan Ruggles
Ouachita Baptist University’s Career Services Office will host a Preparing for Graduate
School Workshop Monday, Nov. 1, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Ouachita Commons Alumni
Room.
The workshop will be led by two professionals: Aaron Taylor, associate dean of admissions
at the the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law,
and Wendi Boyles, director of Henderson State University’s MBA program.
“Students are welcome to grab their lunch and come and go as they please during the
workshop,” said Mallory Moddelmog, OBU director of career services.
Both representatives will share in general terms about researching and selecting a
graduate/professional school, applying to graduate school, GPA and test score requirements,
financing graduate school and additional resources.
The representatives will be available to answer any questions students may have during
the workshop. Students who attend the workshop will be treated to free dessert and
will have the opportunity to sign up to win a door prize.
“As a senior, I am very low on money,” said Mariana Dirvardin, a senior business major.
She said she is interested in attending the workshop “to know how I could afford graduate
school.”
Career Services will also host a Graduate and Professional School Fair Nov. 10 from
11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., so the workshop is also designed to prepare students for that event.
