Ouachita Baptist University’s first Tiger Day of the semester will be hosted by the Office of Admissions Friday, Sept. 14, for prospective students and their families. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the opening program beginning at 9 a.m. in Hickingbotham Hall’s Young Auditorium.

“Tiger Days are a great way for students and families to visit Ouachita,” said Lara Dyar, senior admissions counselor for North Arkansas and Oklahoma. “Students are nervously excited, but they’re not alone.”

Tiger Day is a great opportunity for students to begin relationships with other prospective students, attend classes and meet with the dean of their school of choice. Dyar noted that “it is also an opportunity for parents to meet with administration, ask questions about financial aid and other areas they may have questions about” and ease their minds about their student coming to Ouachita.

Prospective students who choose to attend Tiger Day can expect a full schedule of events. Beginning the day is an address from Ouachita President Rex Horne. From there, students and their families visit with deans, attend classes and eat lunch in Walker Conference Center, catered by Sodexo.

Campus tours are offered by members of the Ouachita Student Foundation (OSF) where prospective students have the opportunity to ask questions of upperclassmen about campus life and experience campus firsthand. The day closes with a tour of Ouachita residence halls.

Parents will also have the opportunity to learn more about Ouachita in a panel discussion led by members of the administration.
