Ouachita Baptist University will host four student recitals on Friday, March 15, in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall.

Jessica Smith, a sophomore musical theatre major from Van Buren, Ark., will perform her sophomore musical theatre recital at 11 a.m. She will be accompanied by Susan Monroe, staff accompanist, and begin with “Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm” from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying by Frank Loesser. Smith will then be assisted by Robby Taylor, a sophomore musical theatre major from Harriman, Tenn., for Mr. Lucky’s, a scene by Stephen Fife. Smith will then sing “My Husband Makes Movies” from Nine by Maury Yeston and conclude with “As Long As You’re Mine” from Wicked by Stephen Schwartz, assisted by Taylor.

Robby Taylor will also be performing his sophomore musical theatre recital at 11 a.m. and be accompanied by Monroe. He will perform “Sehnsucht” by Franz Schubert, “Vaga luna, che inargenti” by Vincenzo Bellini, “Mandoline” by Gabriel Fauré, “All At Once” from Unlock’d by Derek Gregor and “All for the Best” from Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. Taylor will be assisted by Jacob Sturgeon, a junior musical theatre and education major from Pine Bluff, Ark., for “All for the Best.”

Jalin Wesley, a sophomore musical theatre major from Little Rock, Ark., will perform his sophomore musical theatre recital at 11 a.m. He will also be accompanied by Monroe and begin with “The Devil You Know” from Side Show by Henry Krieger. Wesley will then be assisted by Cami Willis, a junior musical theatre major from Flower Mound, Texas, for a scene from Fences by August Wilson and “A Man and a Woman” from 110 in the Shade by Harvey Schmidt. He will conclude with “Underground” from Memphis by David Bryan.

LeeAnne Polk, a junior music performance major from Greenville, Texas, will perform her junior flute recital at 2 p.m. She will be accompanied by Monroe and perform “Grave” and “Allegro appassionato” from Sonata in A Minor by George Frideric Handel, “Caprice No. 24 for Solo Flute” by Niccolo Paganini and “Fantaisie Pastorale Hongroise, Op. 26” by Francois Doppler.
