Ouachita to host Tiger Day for prospective students Sept. 6
August 30, 2013 - Jessica Stewart
Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Admissions Counseling will host high school students and their parents at Tiger Day on Friday, Sept. 6, as a time to see OBU’s campus and experience the feel of life at Ouachita.
“I think Tiger Day is a great way to see what life at OBU is like on a normal day,”
said Lori Motl, OBU’s director of admissions counseling. “The students get to sit
in on a class, tour campus and visit with a dean.”
Starting at 8:30 a.m., students will check in at Hickingbotham Hall, and then they
will engage in an opening program at 9 a.m. in Young Auditorium. Later, students will
have an opportunity to meet with their academic deans, sit in on a class and tour
Ouachita’s campus. At this time, parents also will have the opportunity to learn more
about Ouachita at a question-and-answer panel of university administrators.
“I think my favorite part of Tiger Day is just getting to meet families and see them
interact with each other, “ Motl said. “Students also have the opportunity to start
making connections with other students, which is exciting.”
