Anna Sikes crowned Ouachita’s 2014 Homecoming Queen

Anna Sikes, a senior Christian studies/Biblical studies and Christian studies/Christian
ministry double major from Greenbrier, Ark., was crowned Ouachita Baptist University’s
2014 Homecoming Queen during Ouachita’s pre-Homecoming game ceremony on Saturday,
Oct. 4.
Sikes and other members of the court were presented at Cliff Harris Stadium in front
of more than 3,000 students and alumni in attendance for Ouachita’s Homecoming football
victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Ouachita President Rex Horne
and OBU’s 2013 Homecoming Queen, Kelsey Frink, crowned Sikes. The 2014 Homecoming
Court includes Roxanne Easter, Hannah Pinkerton, Victoria Williams and Katie Theriot.
The 46 Homecoming Court nominees represented numerous campus clubs, academic departments
and organizations at Ouachita. After the nominees were presented to the student body
at the weekly chapel service, students were given the opportunity to vote for the
court. The results were announced at the Oct. 4 ceremony.
“It was a mixture of surprise and excitement when they called my name,” Sikes said.
“Everyone has been so gracious to me, and I am so thankful!”
Sikes represented the Eta Alpha Omega men’s social club and was escorted by her father,
Marty Sikes. She is a member of the Tri Chi women’s social club, the Ouachita Student
Foundation and the Tiger Serve Day leadership team.
“I felt so honored to represent the men of Eta Alpha Omega. They are a genuine group
of friends who are so fun and down to earth,” Sikes added. “Homecoming is very magical
at Ouachita because it brings the whole campus together to celebrate the school we
hold so dear. I love being a student at a place that becomes home.”
First runner-up was Roxanne Easter, a junior history and secondary education double
major from Sheridan, Ark., representing the junior class. She is a member of the Tri
Chi women’s social club and the Ambush Steering Team, and is a Resident Assistant
in Georgia Hickingbotham Hall. She was escorted by her father, Clark Easter.
Second runner-up was Hannah Pinkerton, a senior communication sciences and disorders
and Spanish double major from Benton, Ark., representing the Panhellenic Council.
She currently serves as president of Panhellenic and also is involved in the Ouachita
Student Foundation and Freshman Family Group leadership. She was escorted by her grandfather,
R.H. Pinkerton.
Third runner-up was Victoria Williams, a sophomore mass communications major from
Spring, Texas, representing the sophomore class. She is a member of the Tri Chi women’s
social club, serves as a Resident Assistant in Francis Crawford and supports the Tigers
as the Tally the Tiger mascot. She was escorted by her father, Bryan Williams.
Fourth runner-up was Katie Theriot, a senior communication sciences and disorders
and Spanish double major from Alexandria, La., representing Campus Ministries. She
is active in Backyard Bible Club, the Big Brother/Big Sister program and the Ouachita
Student Foundation. She was escorted by her father, John Theriot.

double major from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, represented Enactus. She also is involved
in the Alpha Chi national college honor society and the Arkadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

Beth Anne Caery, a junior communication sciences and disorders major from Cabot, Ark.,
represented EEE women’s social club pledge class of 2013. She was escorted by her
father, Sam Caery.
Bailey Chitwood, a senior biology major from North Little Rock, Ark., represented
the American Chemical Society. She also is involved in the Campus Activities Board,
Tri Beta and the Carl Goodson Honors Program. She was escorted by Dustin Walter, a
senior biology and chemistry double major from Marion, Ark.
Hannah Cooper, a senior biology major Conway, Ark., represented the Gridiron Girls.
She currently serves as president of the Gridiron Girls. She also is involved in the
EEE women’s social club and is a Rho Sigma Sweetheart. She was escorted by her father,
Jamie Cooper.
Sophie DeMuth, a senior Christian studies/Christian missions, Christian studies/Biblical
studies and speech communication triple major from Rockwall, Texas, represented the
Pruet Sisterhood in Ouachita’s Pruet School of Christian Studies. She also is involved
in Campus Ministries and the Alpha Tau honor society. She was escorted by her father,
Patrick DeMuth.
Trinity Dial, a senior biology major from Rockwall, Texas, represented Panhellenic
Council. She also is involved in Tri Beta and College Republicans. She was escorted
by her father, Brian Dial.
Lauren Dunklin, a senior dietetics and nutrition major from Humphrey, Ark., represented
the Nutrition and Dietetics Club. She also is involved in the EEE women’s social club,
College Republicans and is a Kappa Chi Little Sister. She was escorted by her father,
George Dunklin Jr.
Aaryn Elliott, a senior early childhood education major from Bentonville, Ark., represented
the EEE women’s social club. She currently serves as the president of EEE and also
is chair of student recruitment for the Ouachita Student Foundation. She was escorted
by her father, Wyley Elliott.
Abby Emanuel, a senior biology major from Little Rock, Ark., represented the EEE women’s
social club pledge class of 2012. She also is on the women’s soccer team and is a
Freshman Family Group leader. She was escorted by her father, Peter Emanuel.
Abbey Fowler, a senior mass communications and art and graphic design double major
from Arkadelphia, Ark., represented the Art Club. She also is involved in the Tri

Mariah Gough, a sophomore pre-medicine major from Calion, Ark., represented the Chi
Delta women’s social club pledge class of 2014. She also is a member of the Ouachita

McCall Guttridge, a senior early childhood major from Denison, Texas, represented
the Tri Chi women’s social club. She currently serves as the president of Tri Chi
and also is involved in the Ouachita Student Foundation and Kappa Delta Pi. She was

Grace Hevron, a senior history and secondary education double major from Duncanville,
Texas, represented the Chi Rho Phi pledge class of 2013. She also is involved in the

Chloe Huff, a senior psychology major from Jonesboro, Ark., represented the Campus

Kasey McLeane, a senior accounting and business administration/finance double major
from Camden, Ark., represented the senior class. She is involved in the Ouachita Student

Estefanie Perez Ferrer, a sophomore business adminstration major from Maracaibo, Zulia,
Venezuela, represented the International Club. She also is involved in the Ouachita

Lauren Perry, a senior art and graphic design major from Springdale, Ark., represented
the Sigma Alpha Sigma men’s social club. She is a graphic designer for Ouachita’s
Office of Communications and is a member of the volleyball team and Ouachita Student

Grace Powell, a sophomore kinesiology and leisure studies/pre-professional studies
major from North Augusta, S.C., represented Tiger Nation Student Leadership. She also
is involved in the Campus Activities Board and Gridiron Girls. She was escorted by

Laura Grace Shaddox, a senior communication sciences and disorders major from North
Little Rock, Ark., represented Student Senate. She also is involved in the EEE women’s

Alpha Chi national college honor society. She also is involved in the Big Brother/Big

Kara Strong, a freshman elementary education major from Little Rock, Ark., represented
