EAOuachita Baptist University will host Elizabeth Anderson in her senior piano recital Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m. The recital, which will be held in McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center on Ouachita’s campus, is free and open to the public.

Anderson, a music education major from Salem, Ark., is the student of Dr. Lei Cai, professor of piano. The recital is in partial fulfillment for her music degree.

“The recital showcases the progress I have made as a musician since being here at Ouachita,” Anderson said. “It has stretched me a lot, and it is a reminder of how God will equip those He has called. I want to play my recital in a way that everyone who attends will see God glorified through my performance.”

The performance will begin with Wolfgang A. Mozart’s “Fantasia in D Minor.” Anderson will then play Frederic Chopin’s “Agitato,” “Sostenuto,” “Alegro Molto,” “Largo” and “Cantabile” from Prelude Opus 28. She will conclude with Claude Debussy’s “La fille aux cheveux de lin” and “General Lavine” from Preludes.

“Ouachita has helped me achieve my dream of being a music major. My time at Ouachita has been very good, and I have been challenged to do everything for God. Being here has taught me to rely on God more than ever and to seek His will for every area of my life,” Anderson said. “I am most excited about getting to share the talent that God has given me by performing my repertory.”
