The Arkansas Arts Council is very pleased to be able to include Ouachita Baptist University on the 2019 Small Works on Paper touring schedule. Small Works on Paper is hosted by ten locations each year. Each venue receives the exhibition for a period of one month. The exhibition includes juried works by members of the Arkansas Artist Registry.

No reception is planned for this event. Gallery hours are M – F, 8AM – 5PM

Matt Smith - Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery, March 1 - 28, 2018. Smith will lead Gallery Talk on March 1st at 10:00 A.M. Matt Smith is an assistant professor of art at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The exhibit will feature pieces exploring graphic design and typography and how these elements can showcase the Christian faith.

 

 

Between the Shadow and the Light: An Exhibit Out of South Africa - Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery, Jan. 22-Feb. 23, 2018. This exhibit is a cross-cultural experience that explores the history, social wounds, and ongoing reconciliation efforts of South Africa. It shows a variety of medias and artists.

Meet the Pressed. -Verser Theater Gallery, Jan 15 - Feb. 7, 2014. 8 Studio Art and Graphic Design majors hosted an art walk Saturday evening, April 6, 6PM. The students presented their Senior Exhibitions in partial fulfillment of their degree requirements. The exhibit spaces involved the Hammons Gallery in Mabee Fine Arts, the lobby gallery of the Verser Theatre and a portion of Lile Hall including the English Department. Exhibiting artists included Hunter Soper, Rebekah Poynor,Andrea Lock, Courtney Sharp, Rebecca Houlihan, Jessica Caldwell, Nicole McPhate and Grace Anne Thomas.  The exhibits were on display through April 30.

Faculty Exhibit - Hammons Gallery, October 15 - November 18. The exhibit featured recent paintings and ceramic works by Visual Arts faculty members, Donnie Copeland and Summer Bruch.  In addition to the exhibit Asst. Professors of Music Justin Isenhour and Ryan Lewis presented improvisational works on trombone and marimba in response to the exhibit.

 

 

Small Works On Paper - Hammons Gallery, August 20- September 20, 2012.  An exhibit organized by the Arkansas Arts Council.  This was the first showing of the annual traveling exhibit on Ouachita's campus.  The exhibit featured 40 works by Arkansas artists and the exhibit is curated by Marcia Goldenstein, professor of drawing and painting at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

 

Confluence, Divergence, Concurrence - Hammons Gallery, March 27-April 13, 2012. This exhibit featured guest artists Veda and Meda Rives The exhibit was an installation of handmade paper arranged throughout the gallery space. “Confluence, Divergence, Concurrence” is a continuation of a series of installations the artists have produced throughout the U.S. and as far away as South Korea and Japan.
