A Weekly Word: Isaiah 26:4
January 01, 2020
As you read this, it will be nearing mid-term. It is possible that you will be feeling some stress. We start with a fresh semester, high resolve, and then as the weeks go by things begin to “pile up.” Assignments that seemed weeks away are suddenly due now. The semester is nearly half over. We have to plan for next semester while in the midst of this one. Where did the time go? Perhaps a prayer like the one below may help as you honestly face the challenges and go through these next few weeks.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.
Isaiah 26:4
Good morning, Lord. Thank you for this new day. Praise to you. Lord, I thought this opportunity was in your plan for me. I confess I can become overwhelmed with the many responsibilities in my life and at times even question this choice. Family, friends, special relationships all call me and yet I have to finish these assignments. How do I blend the academic part of my life with the relational part of my life? I know you want what is best for me and for those in my circle of influence. Help me to “Be still and know that you are God” (Psalm 46:10). I want to “sing a new song to you” (Psalm 96) and praise you each morning. I desire to follow you as I walk the walk before me. You do not forsake me. I trust you to guide me as I align my priorities with Yours. I can complete these assignments and keep my balance. Thank you, Lord. Today, I again claim you as the One in whom I can “Trust forever, for you are the Rock, the rock eternal."
In the Name of Jesus, Your Son and My Savior, Amen.
