Destiny Diaz to perform senior flute recital at Ouachita

The Division of Music in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host Destiny Diaz for her senior flute recital on Friday, April 14, at 11 a.m. in McBeth Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Diaz’s principal applied instructor is Dr. Carlos Feller, assistant professor of music at Ouachita.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Dr. Feller,” said Diaz, an instrumental music education major from Malvern, Ark. “I am very grateful to my family and friends for their support. To God be the glory.”
At Ouachita, Diaz won the 2022 David Glaze Music Competition and the 2022 W. Francis McBeth Concerto Competition. She also was a participant in the 2023 Arkansas Intercollegiate Band.
During her recital, Diaz will perform “Flute Sonata in G major (Hamburger Sonata) H. 564” by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, “Flute Concerto in D major, op. 283” by Carl Reinecke, “Bergère Captive” from Three Pieces for Solo Flute by Pierre-Octave Ferroud and “Ballade for Flute and Piano” by Frank Martin.
Diaz will be joined during the recital by Kristen La Madrid, Ouachita coordinator of accompanists.
