Ouachita's Elrod Center hosts 50th Tiger Serve Day
April 05, 2022The Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community at Ouachita Baptist University held its 50th Tiger Serve Day on Saturday, April 2, when 736 Ouachita students, faculty and staff gathered to complete 91 service projects at homes, non-profits and churches across Arkadelphia.

Ouachita's Department of Theatre Arts to present "Godspell" from April 7-10
March 22, 2022Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will present the 2012 revival of “Godspell” by Stephen Schwartz from Thursday-Sunday, April 7-10, in Jones Performing Arts Center, 409 Ouachita Street. Shows begin April 7-9 at 7:30 p.m.; a matinee performance will be held April 10 at 2:30 p.m. The production is open to the public.
Ouachita's Public History program presents cemetery care workshop April 2
March 21, 2022Ouachita Baptist University’s Public History program will present a free, hands-on preservation workshop Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m.-noon at Rose Hill Cemetery. The workshop will be led by Dr. Lisa Speer, professor and university archivist at Ouachita, and by students enrolled in the university’s heritage tourism class. Box lunches will be provided by Apex Insurance Consultants of Arkadelphia.

Ouachita junior Izzy Baughn wins award at Midwest Model United Nations conference
March 10, 2022Ouachita Baptist University student Izzy Baughn, a junior communications & media/strategic communications and political science double major from Jonesboro, Ark., earned an award for Best Position Paper in the United Nations Environmental Assembly during the Midwest Model United Nations, held Feb. 23–26 in St. Louis, Mo. Ouachita’s team also earned an honorable mention award for Best Delegation.

All Night Theatre Festival to be held March 12
March 07, 2022Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will present its 22nd annual All-Night Theatre: A 10-Minute Play Festival on Saturday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theatre. The festival, hosted by Ouachita’s chapter of Alpha Psi Omega national theatre honor society, is run entirely by students. Performances are free and open to the public.
Ouachita chemistry students Clower, McCoy named Arkansas Academy of Science grant recipients
March 07, 2022Ouachita Baptist University chemistry students Cori Clower and Aiiryel McCoy, both of Little Rock, have been chosen as two of the four students statewide to receive undergraduate student research grants from the Arkansas Academy of Science (AAS). AAS funds grants of up to $1,000 each spring to assist students with purchasing supplies for their research projects.
