Ouachita to host cellist Christopher Adkins on Nov. 9 as part of Guest Artist Series

Ouachita Baptist University will host cellist Christopher Adkins in concert Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall. Adkins’ performance is part of Ouachita’s Guest Artist Series and is funded through a gift from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Principal Chair Endowment Program. The recital is free and open to the public; masks are required inside the auditorium due to COVID-19.

Ouachita to host Wind Ensemble in concert Oct. 25

Ouachita Baptist University’s Wind Ensemble will present its fall concert Monday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public. Audience members must wear masks inside JPAC, in accordance with university COVID-19 policy.

Ouachita Saxophone Quartet performs at North American Saxophone Alliance Conference

Ouachita’s student Saxophone Quartet was selected to perform at the Region IV Conference of the North American Saxophone Alliance that was held virtually on Friday, March 12, through Sunday, March 14. Members of the Saxophone Quartet include Cross Brandon on baritone, Craig Crawford on soprano saxophone, Graham Scarborough on tenor and Katelyn Still on alto.

Ouachita students earn four finalist, 13 semifinalist honors in virtual state NATS competition

March 18, 2021

Four Ouachita Baptist University music students were recognized with finalist honors at the 2021 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) auditions for the state of Arkansas. Over 130 Arkansas college students competed to reach the final round of the competition, which was conducted virtually this year, and 14 Ouachita students earned semifinalist and finalist recognitions.
