Ouachita’s Career Services Office to host Majors Fair Oct. 27
October 25, 2010 - Ben Harrington
Ouachita Baptist University’s Career Services Office will host a Majors Fair Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Grant Plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The purpose of the Majors Fair is to give students the opportunity to learn more about
OBU’s different schools and academic offerings. Students will have the opportunity
to meet deans, faculty and upper-classmen from the various schools in a relaxed and
informal setting. Students who attend may also register to win door prizes.
Mallory Moddelmog, director of the Career Services Office, said she is excited about
the Majors Fair and all of the opportunities it offers students. “Hopefully, our freshmen
and sophomores will use the Majors Fair to gather some good information about majors,
minors and emphases that are attractive to them,” she added.
“Also, our students can learn about career options within areas that intrigue them,
and they can find out about graduate or professional school opportunities,” Moddelmog
said. “Students should feel comfortable asking questions, and the Majors Fair should
assist them as they prepare for pre-registration in the next few weeks.”
Other Ouachita programs will also be available at the fair. The Grant Center for International
Education will also be at the fair for students wanting to learn more about study
abroad opportunities. The Academic Enrichment Center will be available with tutoring
and counseling information. The Campus Activities Office will be available with information
about plugging into campus life. Campus Activities will also be serving popcorn to
participants.
The fair will be moved inside Evans Student Center in the event of rain. For more
information, contact Mallory Moddelmog at [email protected] or 870-245-5593 or visit the Career Services Office in room 135 of Evans Student
Center.
