Ouachita Baptist University students recently were honored at the university’s 2018 Academic Awards Banquet. The event recognized various academic and leadership achievements of the students throughout the past academic year.

Tyler Sanders wins Ouachita's 2018 Virginia Queen Piano Competition

Tyler Sanders, a senior music industry major from Arkadelphia, Ark., won first place in Ouachita Baptist University’s 2018 Virginia Queen Piano Competition.

Ouachita students earn top photographer, web editor awards in 2018 ACMA competition

Ouachita Baptist University students earned 46 awards at the recent Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA) conference, including two top awards in general excellence. Andy Henderson was named Photographer of the Year for his work with The Signal student newspaper and Ouachitonian yearbook, and Ethan Dial was named Website Editor of the Year for his work with The Online Signal.

The history behind Jones Performing Arts Center and Verser Theatre

This year, two facilities that play a large role on Ouachita’s campus are celebrating milestone anniversaries. Verser Theatre is celebrating its 50th year on Ouachita’s campus and houses Ouachita’s theatre program and many of Ouachita’s student productions. Jones Performing Arts Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is another building that has a huge role in every Ouachitonian’s college career.
