353 Ouachita students named to Dean's List

A total of 353 students at Ouachita Baptist University were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2016 semester. The students will receive a certificate of recognition from Ouachita and will be included in the “National Dean’s List” for 2015-16.

Dr. Hal Bass, professor emeritus of social sciences, retired this May after serving at Ouachita since 1976.

Celebrating Ouachita Baptist University’s 129th spring commencement on May 14, university officials conferred a total of 337 degrees on 331 graduates, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees as well as Ouachita’s first Associate of Arts degrees earned through the university’s Ouachita at New Life Church program.

Ouachita Baptist University will hold its 129th spring commencement exercises on Saturday, May 14, at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of the university’s historic Cone-Bottoms Hall.

Ouachita biology students represent Arkansas on Capitol Hill

A Ouachita Baptist University research team presented their findings to members of Congress at the 20th annual Posters on the Hill event in Washington, D.C. Heidi Hughes and John Givler represented OBU on Capitol Hill among 60 undergraduate research groups from across the nation.
