Ouachita Baptist University’s Ouachita Singers and Women’s Chorus will present their annual fall concert on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7:30. The concert, which will be held in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall, will be free and open to the public.

Dr. Gary Gerber, dean of Ouachita’s School of Fine Arts, professor of music and director of choral activities, will direct Ouachita Singers. Their program includes Norman Dello Joio’s “Come to Me, My Love,” Zebulon M. Highben’s “LoveIs the Key,” Eric Whitacre’s “The Seal Lullaby,” Craig Courtney’s “Father of Light” and “His Love Never Fails,” Morten Lauridsen’s “O nata lux” and David Dickau’s “I Am Not Yours.”

“The theme for the Singers’ portion is love and light,” Gerber said. “People will learn about love from many different aspects: love from God or loving each other. Then they will learn about the light of the world.”

Dr. Becky Morrison, assistant professor of music, will direct Women’s Chorus. Their program includes Lee R. Kesselman’s “Ad Amore,” Andrea Ramsey’s “Sing to Me,” Stephen Paulus’s “The Road Home,” Mark Hayes’ arrangement of the traditional spiritual “Wade in the Water,” Craig Courtney’s arrangement of Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Rise” by and Lynda Hassler and Cindy Berry’s “You Are God.”
