Ouachita Baptist University recently honored students at its 2019 Academic Awards Banquet. The event recognized various academic and leadership achievements by students throughout the 2018-2019 academic year.

Ouachita Baptist University teams won first, second and fifth place in this year’s OBU/HSU Business Plan Competition, held on Henderson State University’s campus April 23. Senior Cole Jester earned first place in the competition for his business plan, Bone Dri, along with a $4,000 cash prize.

At the recent Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition, Ouachita’s Cole Jester (third from left) and his faculty advisor, Bryan McKinney (fifth from left), won third place in the undergraduate division and first place for undergraduate elevator pitch for Jester’s business plan, Bone Dri. Ouachita senior Cole Jester wins third place in statewide Governor's Cup Business Plan Competition

Ouachita Baptist University’s Cole Jester, a senior Christian studies/biblical studies and political science double major from Benton, Ark., received third place and a $10,000 cash prize in the undergraduate division of the annual Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition, held in Little Rock earlier this spring, for his business plan Bone Dri.

Ouachita's annual Elrod Center service awards banquet honored Linda Burns and student volunteers

Ouachita Baptist University’s Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community held its annual community service awards banquet on Tuesday, April 16. Linda Burns was honored with the Foster Grandparent Service Award for 25 years of service with the program.

Ouachita finished with 13 awards, including a grand prize, in the Baptist Communicators Association Awards.
