Ouachita senior Cole Jester wins third place in statewide Governor's Cup Business Plan Competition

Ouachita Baptist University’s Cole Jester, a senior Christian studies/biblical studies and political science double major from Benton, Ark., received third place and a $10,000 cash prize in the undergraduate division of the annual Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition, held in Little Rock earlier this spring, for his business plan Bone Dri.

Ouachita received Gold Status credential, national recognition from the American College of Sports Medicine.

Ouachita Baptist University recently received the credential of Gold Status from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for its Department of Kinesiology and Leisure Studies’ participation and excellence in the organization’s Exercise Is Medicine® (EIM) program.

Ouachita to hold 132nd spring commencement ceremony May 11

Ouachita Baptist University will hold its 132nd spring commencement on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of the university’s historic Cone-Bottoms Hall. The ceremony will honor 345 graduates earning Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Associate of Arts degrees.

Ouachita hosted Dr. Melba Pattillo Beals of the Little Rock Nine for the Birkett Williams Lecture on April 2. Following her lecture, Beals signed books for attendees.

I was torn and wanted to make sure that I picked the perfect home for the next four years of my life. Steve Guymon to lead Ouachita women's cross country and competitive club sports

Ouachita Baptist University announced that Steve Guymon has been hired as head women’s cross country coach and director of competitive club sports. He previously served as head coach for track and cross country at Harding University since 2002.

Division of Music to present annual PRISM instrumental concert April 29

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will present its annual PRISM concert on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature the Ouachita Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and other various ensembles and soloists from Ouachita’s instrumental program.
