Ouachita senior Cole Jester wins third place in statewide Governor's Cup Business Plan Competition
May 03, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s Cole Jester, a senior Christian studies/biblical studies and political science double major from Benton, Ark., received third place and a $10,000 cash prize in the undergraduate division of the annual Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition, held in Little Rock earlier this spring, for his business plan Bone Dri.

April 30, 2019Ouachita Baptist University will hold its 132nd spring commencement on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of the university’s historic Cone-Bottoms Hall. The ceremony will honor 345 graduates earning Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Associate of Arts degrees.

April 26, 2019It’s been four years, but I remember how stressed I felt when I was trying to decide between my top two college choices. I was torn and wanted to make sure that I picked the perfect home for the next four years of my life. My Ouachita admissions counselor made sure I knew everything I needed to know while choosing between OBU and another school, but she also shared some advice that was thoughtful, gave me more to consider and, in the end, helped me make my decision.
Ouachita wins Baptist Communicators Association Awards
April 25, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Communications and Marketing won a grand prize as well as 12 other awards in the Baptist Communicators Association’s W.C. Fields Awards.
Bill Downs didn’t always tell the truth. I have proof of it. In 2004, Downs wrote a book called “The Fighting Tigers: The Untold Stories Behind the Names on the Ouachita Baptist University World War II Memorial." I asked him to autograph the book for me in December of that year, and this is what he wrote: “To Rex Nelson, the only OBU student I have ever had who wrote so beautifully that I never found anything to correct.”
