Division of Music to present annual PRISM instrumental concert April 29
April 24, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will present its annual PRISM concert on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature the Ouachita Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and other various ensembles and soloists from Ouachita’s instrumental program.
Steve Guymon to lead Ouachita women's cross country and competitive club sports
April 24, 2019Ouachita Baptist University announced that Steve Guymon has been hired as head women’s cross country coach and director of competitive club sports. He previously served as head coach for track and cross country at Harding University since 2002.
Ouachita to host Virginia Queen Piano Competition May 3
April 24, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host its annual Virginia Queen Piano Competition Friday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The competition will be held in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center, and admission is free and open to the public.
Ouachita's Saxophone Quartet performs at Region 4 NASA Conference
April 23, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s Saxophone Quartet recently was invited to perform at the Region 4 North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Conference held at the University of Arkansas March 14-17. Additionally, senior Sierra Westberg was selected for a solo performance.
The library always seems to be a place where students can come and study to their heart’s delight. It is filled with the tools a student needs to be successful in college: computers, printers, books, even a charging station! Almost every student has spent at least a portion of their time in the library – preparing for an exam, a group project or working on that exegetical.

April 23, 2019Ouachita Baptist University’s steel drum bands will present their spring concert on Wednesday, May 1, at 8 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center. The concert will feature three ensembles: Tiger Steel, Pan Jouvet and Pan Harmony, an elementary student community band.

April 19, 2019Perhaps you’ve paused long enough by the river overlook on Ouachita’s campus to notice a small burial site. It is the final resting place of Ouachita’s founding and longest-serving president, Dr. John “Jack” William Conger, who died on April 7, 1924.
