Ouachita vocal studies students earn 12 finalist honors in Southern Region NATS auditions

November 19, 2019

Ouachita Baptist University music students earned 12 finalist honors at the 2019 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Southern Region Conference and Student Auditions. More than 300 students from colleges in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi attended the competition, which was held at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., Nov. 6-9. Of all of those competing, 26 Ouachita students earned finalist or semifinalist honors.

Ouachita Baptist University’s Dr. Bethany Hicks, associate professor of history, authored a chapter essay titled “Germany” in the book East Central European Migrations During the Cold War: A Handbook, published in May 2019. The volume is a compilation of essays written by historians, sociologists and political scientists from eight countries.
