Ouachita faculty, staff honored for combined 780 years of service
November 18, 2020Ouachita Baptist University recently recognized 36 faculty and staff members in celebration of their milestone anniversaries working for the university. Together they have served a total of 780 years at the start of the 2020-2021 academic year, with six faculty and staff members celebrating 35 years or more.

Hamilton awarded $297,000 Arkansas IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence grant
November 10, 2020Ouachita Baptist University’s Dr. Sharon Hamilton, assistant professor of chemistry, has been awarded $297,431 in funding over the next two and a half years by the Arkansas IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) to support her research of incorporating proteins into novel modern wound dressings.

October 27, 2020Remember at the onset of COVID-19 in the U.S. when toilet paper was impossible to find and hand sanitizer was out of stock? Imagine the demand for those supplies on a college campus, specifically at Ouachita. Thanks to the work of Randall Quillin, building services supervisor in Ouachita’s Office of Facilities Management, and his building services team, Ouachita was able secure needed supplies to return to on-campus classes.
Ouachita awarded $37,000 NetVUE development grant to encourage discovery through reflective writing
October 01, 2020Earlier this year, Ouachita Baptist University was awarded a $37,000 program development grant from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) for its proposal “Discerning Vocation Through Writing.” The two-year grant is intended to equip faculty to better assist students in discerning their vocation through reflective writing exercises.
