February 27, 2020It’s been 20 years since the Ouachita Singers, returning from a mission trip to Europe, crashed on the final leg of their trip in Little Rock on American Airlines Flight 1420. Survivors returned to Arkadelphia in June 2019 to mark the 20th anniversary of that night, June 1, 1999.

February 14, 2020Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host New York performer and producer Samantha Rhea Parrish, a 2010 Ouachita alumna, in a guest artist recital on Tuesday, Feb, 25, in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders returns to alma mater for lecture March 2

Ouachita reports second consecutive 99% career outcomes rate for graduates
January 10, 2020Ouachita Baptist University reported yet another graduating class found success in their post-graduate pursuits as 99% of the 2019 graduating class currently is employed or furthering their education. The number also exceeds the most recent national average of 93% for colleges and universities.
Jon Merryman, Ouachita Baptist University’s director of alumni relations and the Ouachita Student Foundation, recently was appointed as a commissioner to the Alumni Affairs Directors Group with the national Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). Merryman is one of seven directors from the U.S. and Canada appointed to the group by the president of CCCU, Shirley Hoogstra.
