March 18, 2020Brandon Matros stood on the pitching mound, a familiar glove and ball in hand, running through the quick motions of throwing the ball smoothly into the catcher’s mitt. Matros, a junior finance major from Arkadelphia and pitcher for the Tigers, was thankful he was still playing the game he had known and loved since his earliest days.
It's the morning of the 2019 Battle of the Ravine football matchup, a tiebreaker year. A Henderson State win will force a shared Great American Conference (GAC) title; a Ouachita win will mean an outright championship for the Tigers, their third consecutive GAC title.

What should have been a normal day on her way to school for then 17-year-old Laura Spradlin, a junior music therapy major from Memphis, Tenn., became a life forever altered thanks to a simple blind-spot on the freeway.

Steve Guymon to lead Ouachita women's cross country and competitive club sports
April 24, 2019Ouachita Baptist University announced that Steve Guymon has been hired as head women’s cross country coach and director of competitive club sports. He previously served as head coach for track and cross country at Harding University since 2002.
