Huckabee School of Education

Welcome from the Dean

Jeff Root Ouachita Baptist UniversityAt Ouachita Baptist University we build a community that exhibits “love of God and love of learning.” We provide both challenge and support. Dedicated and experienced professors teach small classes. Early in each program, we provide opportunities to observe and participate in community projects and schools. We believe these experiences provide strategies for learning and growing that are beneficial for all. Interaction with individuals of diverse backgrounds provides our candidates opportunities to demonstrate care and competence in their areas of study. This is accomplished in a Christ-centered environment.

At Ouachita, students also develop friendships that will be foundational for entering a variety of career paths. Students/candidates find the importance of the spiritual component in life. They explore the integration of faith throughout the educational experience in both personal and professional relationships.

Let us know if we can be of assistance to you, your family, and your friends. We look forward to meeting you.

Blessings,

Jeff R. Root
