Tiger Teacher Candidate and Resident Handbook

The Tiger Teacher Candidate and Resident Handbook was created to provide information regarding the requirements, policies, and procedures that govern teacher education.

Please keep this Handbook as a reference throughout your involvement in the Teacher Education Program at Ouachita Baptist University. The Teacher Education Unit includes all programs for teacher licensure in Elementary Education K-6 (3 and 4 year old endorsement optional), Middle School 4-8, and Secondary Education (7-12) English, Math, Science-Biology or Chemistry, Social Studies, Speech Communication Arts-Theatre, Kinesiology – Physical Education P-12, Art P-12, and Music Education (Choral/Vocal or Instrumental P-12.) Additional endorsements can be added to licensing – Coaching, ESL (English as a Second Language) and SPED (Special Education).
