Teacher Education Handbook

The 2023-2024 Teacher Education Handbook was created to provide information regarding the requirements, policies, and procedures that govern teacher education.

Please keep this Handbook as a reference throughout your involvement in the Teacher Education Program at Ouachita Baptist University. The Teacher Education Unit includes all programs for teacher licensure in Elementary Education K-6 (3 and 4 year old endorsement optional), Middle School 4-8, and Secondary Education (7-12) English, Math, Science-Biology or Chemistry, Social Studies, Speech Communication Arts-Theatre, Kinesiology – Physical Education P-12, Art P-12, and Music Education (Choral/Vocal or Instrumental P-12.) Additional endorsements can be added to licensing – Coaching, ESL (English as a Second Language) and SPED (Special Education).
